Ok, friends, are you sitting down?? Soul Jar: Thirty-One Fantastical Stories by Disabled Authors has been named a 2024 Top Ten sci-fi/fantasy/horror book on Booklist!! This is the American Library Association's online magazine reviewing books for school and public libraries. It's how librarians choose books to stock. Many bookstore buyers look at these lists as well. To be chosen as a top ten book is an incredible honor!
It is also the only book on this list published by a small press: Forest Avenue Press.
It's incredible marketing for Soul Jar. More importantly, it will ensure that more readers see it and know they are not alone in their disabilities. Others like them - us- exist and are writing stories and characters with this shared narrative.
